What am I Thankful for ...

Today and everyday I am thankful for...

-- First and foremost -- My daughter. She truly is my everything. My entire world revolves around her. I truly cherish every second that I spend with her. I never knew what true love was until November 21, 2006 at 9:32pm when I looked into my daughter's eyes for the very first time. Everything that I do, I do it for her. There are times that our life is stressful and I do not know where to turn and all I have to do is look at her and see her big beautiful smile and I can go on.

-- For the fact that I still have my daughter here with me today. This CF Journey has been anything but easy. Having her here at 6 years old after the multiple hospitalizations, surgeries, sicknesses, x-rays, doctors appointments and tests, etc etc is truly a blessing. I am extremely grateful that she is a fighter and does not easily give up when things get tough for her. Things in the CF world have come along way and that has also played a big part in her still being here today.

-- My amazing extended and rather large CF Family -- You guys totally rock! Every single one of you have helped keep Bennett and I strong throughout this entire journey. You guys are the only ones that truly know our daily fight. Meeting you guys is the only good thing that has and ever will come out of Bennett having CF. It is extremely reassuring to know that if I have any doubt or fears that any one of you will be there for me with the drop of a message, phone call or text message. I love you all! Thanks for all that you do!

-- My friends -- Some of you I have never even spoken  to in person, I only interact with you solely on Facebook and you guys have been better friends to me than the ones that I see daily and once called my true friends. Receiving the wall posts, comments and messages that are filled with love, support and prayers are greatly appreciated it. Please know that I cherish our friendships and appreciate all of the love and support you provide for Bennett and I.

-- My family (the select few that I have) -- Bennett is truly blessed to have you guys in her life. Our entire family may not be close but we are blessed to be close with the ones that truly matter to us. Especially Mark. Lisa, Haley and Chad LeMay -- Those late nights that you guys have spent in the hospital and Er with us to the hours spent sitting in a waiting room waiting on her to come out of surgery will never be forgotten. That night that you guys rushed to the ER at midnight on a work/school night to ensure that Bennett and I had everything that we needed before the ambulance showed up to take her to Philly will forever remain in my heart. We love you guys more than you will ever know.I couldn't ask for better godparents for Bennett. You mean so much to her. I cannot thank you guys enough for all that you do for her!

-- My two nephews -- That I am in the position to watch you two grow and become young men! Also, that I was in the position to be able to help raise you two into the amazing guys you are growing into. Watching and witnessing each of your many firsts and milestones. I have not missed a special moment in your lives. I love you two to the moon and back!

-- Brad! This man has been truly wonderful and amazing to Bennett and I. We met when Bennett was a teeny tiny babygirl! He stepped up into her life without any hesitation. He knew from Day 1 how demanding and rough this CF Journey could be and he didn't second guess himself. We may have had our ups and downs but what relationship doesn't? I can forgive but I cannot forget all of the hurt. But, our love is strong enough to overcome any obstacle that comes our way. Seeing him and Bennett together is the most amazing sight ever. Hearing their giggles and seeing their smiles melts my heart. I truly hope he knows just how thankful we are to have him in our lives. He truly is a one of a kind. It takes a special kind of guy to step up and be there for a child with an "illness" as demanding as CF that isn't biologically his and still love her as if she were his!

-- Last but not least and this may seem crazy but Cystic Fibrosis. If it wasn't for the little devil called CF, I wouldn't be as strong as I am today nor would I have met the amazing people that I have. Yes, it is evil, devastating and down right heartless but it brought Bennett and I's bond even closer. I am not at all happy that my daughter suffers daily but I am thankful for the things that it has taught me.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! :0)
